8 steps. 8 minutes. One thought.
Eight minutes is a strange promise. Too short to sound serious. Too long to scroll past. So let me show you exactly what happens inside — step by step, with no mystery.
Mirror Works is one structured conversation. You bring one thought — the one that is squeezing you today. Mirror asks. Waits. Reflects back. It does not advise, does not judge, does not comfort. It walks you down the same road every time, in eight steps. The structure is fixed. The content is yours.
Step 1. See. “What thought hurts you today?” You catch the thought in one sentence, in your own words. No polishing, no softening. If it sounds harsh, it sounds harsh.
Step 2. Check. “Can you be absolutely certain it is true?” The first crack in the pattern. Mirror does not lead you to a known answer — it just asks, and lets the question work.
Step 3. Feel. “How do you react when you believe it?” Where the thought sits in your body. Mirror does not run from a difficult emotion. It waits until you find it.
Step 4. Recognize. “Whose voice is this thought speaking in?” The pattern or the inner part that just woke up: the critic, the victim, the perfectionist, the protector. Naming it changes everything — suddenly the thought is not you.
Step 5. Experience. “Who would you be without this thought?” The moment you notice you are not the thing you think. That you can put it down.
Step 6. Reframe. “How could your new truth sound?” Built from your own words — not an affirmation pasted in from outside.
Step 7. New truth. “Which sentence do you want to take with you?” Four directions to choose from: agency, worth, gentleness, or your own words. You pick the one you are ready to believe today. Not the prettiest one. The true one.
Step 8. Action. “What will you do to embody it?” One micro-gesture, the same day. Two minutes is enough. This is the step that decides whether the session stays in your head or enters your life.
Why this exact order? Because change has a natural structure. You cannot question a thought you have not seen. You cannot let go of a thought whose cost you have not felt. You cannot believe a new truth before you have experienced, even for a moment, who you are without the old one. The eight steps simply follow that logic — the same logic a good therapist or coach follows, compressed into one guided conversation.
Behind the steps stands a synthesis of four traditions of working with thought: cognitive therapy and its core move of separating fact from interpretation, work with inner parts, the practice of questioning thoughts instead of obeying them, and work with a new truth — built the way the brain actually learns: focused attention, repetition, emotional engagement.
You do not need to know any of this to start. All that knowledge is on Mirror’s side. On your side, there is only one thought.
Eight steps. Eight minutes. One thought lighter.
If there is one thought pressing on you right now, do not carry it through the rest of the day unchanged. Bring it to Mirror Works and let the eight steps do what they were built to do: slow the pattern down, separate you from the thought, and give you one small action to take back into your life. Eight minutes is enough to begin.
